Taking the SAT Test
We strongly recommend that all undergraduate international students take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) if it is available in your country.
The SAT test serves two purposes:
- It helps to demonstrate your academic ability
- The Critical Reading portion of the test indicates your English proficiency
SAT scores are required under the following conditions:
- If you wish to be considered for UC scholarships, including Cincinnatus;
- If you are applying to a program in the College of Engineering, the College of Business or the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP);
- If you hope to participate in UC's Division I athletic teams;
- If you are exempt from taking a formal language proficiency test for any reason. Read more about exemptions from language proficiency testing.
For more information about UC's testing requirements, contact the Office of Admissions or the program office for the academic program to which you are applying.
